Are You Living the Christ Life? Romans 5:1–11

Dear Reader, if you are new here and curious, or are looking for answers immediately, please follow this link to our Start Here page: The Start Here page is designed as the beginning point of this website to which these further posts correspond. Thank you, and may “the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14, NIV).

The following sermon, preached on March 19th, 2017, focuses on the crazy verse, Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us.” Christ did not die for us after we repented and then were justified, declared righteous, OK. Nope! Christ died for us WHILE we were STILL SINNERS! God’s love saves us while we are actively rebelling against God! This goes against all common sense (we are dealing with God after all). But the question is: if we have received new life in Jesus, are we nurturing it through the means of grace and the Spirit?
